    India became the first team to win the cricket world cup after West Indies won in the first two editions in ’75 and ’79. The Indian team captained by Kapil Dev scripted one of the finest victories in the history of Indian cricket. Though the Indians scored only 183 in the allotted 60 overs with Kris Srikkanth top scoring at 38, they really bowled well to dismiss the all famous West Indians led by one of the cricketing greats, Clive Lloyd. It is a historical milestone in the annals of Indian cricket and is yet to be emulated as on date.
